Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip, a Thai media tycoon and transgender rights advocate, has purchased the Miss Universe Organization for $20 million.
Her company, JKN Global Group, announced the takeover yesterday.
Jakkaphong, who has been outspoken about her experiences as a transgender woman, said the company was “incredibly honored” to make the acquisition.
