Microsoft officials yesterday confirmed the company is in talks to buy TikTok in the United States.
The app has come under fire for its data collection methods and the fact that it's owned by Chinese technology company ByteDance. The U.S. federal government is considering banning the app.
President Donald Trump said he would give ByteDance 45 days to strike a deal with Microsoft.
