Louisville, Kentucky, Mayor Greg Fischer on Tuesday afternoon announced a $12 million settlement with the family of Breonna Taylor.
Reports surfaced prior to the announcement that the city had reached a settlement over the case involving Taylor, the Black woman who was fatally shot by police in her apartment six months ago.
It's the largest settlement ever paid by Louisville police.
Additionally, the city is implementing police reforms, including changes in search warrants and the hiring of social workers to accompany officers.
