Longtime Springfield banker Derges sets retirement date

Posted online

Dan Derges, a Springfield banker for nearly four decades, has set his retirement date.

Derges, 66, is scheduled to exit his current role as Springfield community president of Mid-Missouri Bank by the end of first-quarter 2026, according to a news release.

"As I reflect on my career, what stands out most are not the numbers, the transactions or the milestones – but the people," Derges said in the release. "The relationships I’ve built with my colleagues and our customers are the true treasures I will carry with me."

Derges intends to retire from Mid-Missouri Bank after his successor is named. Mid-Missouri Bank Director of Marketing Andrew Moore said via email that "the search for his replacement is already underway, and we hope to have someone accept the position by the new year."

Derges has worked at Mid-Missouri Bank since 2011.

“Dan has successfully led our Springfield teams in his decade and a half here at MidMo, and we will soon miss seeing him every day,” said Brian Riedy, president and CEO of Mid-Missouri Bank, in the release. “We entered the Springfield market 25 years ago with some aggressive growth goals, and Dan Derges put the processes in motion to reach and surpass those goals in his time with us."

Mid-Missouri Bank this summer ranked as the No. 1 bank in Missouri on the America's Best Banks in Each State list from Forbes. Mid-Missouri Bank ranked No. 14 in the Springfield metropolitan statistical area on the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s recently released deposit market share report, which shows the company had $406.1 million in deposits, or 2.36% of the market share, as of June 30.

Prior to his time at Mid-Missouri Bank, Derges worked at Boatmen's Bank, The Bank, The Signature Bank and BancorpSouth, according to his LinkedIn profile. A member of Springfield Business Journal's 2017 class of Men of the Year, Derges also has been active civically with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks and Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southwest Missouri.
