Forbes report ranks Mid-Missouri Bank as No. 1 in Missouri

Mid-Missouri Bank is the top bank in Missouri on a list from Forbes.

The Springfield-based company announced its ranking in a news release issued earlier this month. The Forbes report, called America's Best Banks in Each State, was released in mid-June and ranks companies based on customer satisfaction surveys conducted of 26,000 U.S. residents in partnership with market research firm Statista. Additionally, reviews and ratings of each bank were factored in, and online-only banks and larger institutions with branches in 15 or more states were excluded.

On this year's list of the top banks in the Show Me State, Mid-Missouri Bank is followed by No. 2 Equity Bank, No. 3 Nodaway Valley Bank, No. 4 UMB Bank and No. 5 Academy Bank.

Mid-Missouri Bank's Forbes profile notes this year's best-in-state banks ranking is the only one for the company among Forbes lists.

Additionally, no other Springfield-based banks have received the top rank in Missouri during the past five years, according to a review of Forbes best-in-state bank lists.

“2025 is the 153rd consecutive year that Mid-Missouri Bank has been serving the financial needs of the families and businesses of the Ozarks, so this recognition from Forbes is anything but an overnight success,” said Michael Miller, Mid-Missouri Bank chief operating officer and general counsel, in the release. "It’s the product of highly valued relationships through the years with the people of southwest Missouri – relationships that we manage carefully and deliberately to help our customers achieve financial success."

Mid-Missouri Bank ranked No. 14 on Springfield Business Journal's October 2024 list of the area's largest banks and savings banks, based on its roughly $433.8 million in Springfield metropolitan statistical area deposits held as of June 30, 2024. Great Southern Bank was No. 1 on the SBJ list, followed by No. 2 Guaranty Bank and No. 3 Central Bank.
