KY3 makes additional anchor changes

Posted online

KY3 Inc. announced additional anchor changes as the Forhetzes prepare to exit the TV station this month.

Maria Neider, host of “Ozarks Today,” is transitioning to the anchor position for KY3 News at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to a report from the NBC affiliate. Veteran anchor Lisa Rose will co-anchor the 6 p.m. news with Steve Grant and additionally become co-anchor of the news at noon, and KY3 hired longtime journalist Jackie Garrity as morning anchor.

Garrity will co-anchor “Ozarks Today” in the mornings with Chad Plein, who in November was named to the role after previously serving as sports director, according to the report.

Plein succeeded Paul Adler, who was tapped to take over for Ethan Forhetz as evening anchor, according to past reporting.

Garrity comes to KY3 starting Jan. 18 from Eugene, Oregon, where she's served as the main evening anchor of KVAL-TV for the past four years, according to the report.

The on-camera personnel changes that started in November were prompted by the announcement that veteran KY3 anchors Sara and Ethan Forhetz were leaving the station to join Convoy of Hope.

The Forhetzes are scheduled to start at Convoy of Hope on Feb. 1, with Ethan serving as vice president of public engagement and Sara becoming the nonprofit's lead reporter and national spokesperson for the international humanitarian nonprofit, according to past reporting.
