A new leader is set to start this summer at Greenwood Laboratory School.
David Geurin has been tapped to serve as director of the Missouri State University-affiliated private K-12 school, according to a news release. He's scheduled to start July 1 and succeed the retiring Ron Snodgrass.
“Dr. Geurin comes to us with more than 25 years of experience as a teacher, coach, principal and superintendent,” said Barri Tinkler, dean of the MSU College of Education, in the release. “A visionary educational leader with extensive experience in K-12 administration, curriculum development and faculty mentorship, he will help shape the next generation of Greenwood students while strengthening the school’s long-standing traditions of success.”
In taking the top job at Greenwood, Geurin will lead a school with approximately 420 students, according to its website. His predecessor, Snodgrass, announced his retirement from the school last fall.
Geurin is currently Fair Play R-II School District's superintendent, a role he's held since mid-2022 and through which he's credited in the release of leading a 15% increase in the district's Missouri School Improvement Program 6 annual performance rating. Geurin's career also has included working as principal at Bolivar High School and as a teacher and coach at Marshfield High School. He also authored “Future Driven: Will Your Students Thrive in An Unpredictable World?" and in 2017 was named the Digital Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
