Project description: Rhoads Design & Construction plans to move from a leased office on South Enterprise Avenue, said owner Adrian Rhoads. The new headquarters for the residential remodeling and small commercial contractor is double in size, though Rhoads said the second floor office would remain unfinished for future growth of the 11-employee firm. About half of the building is dedicated to equipment storage, said Hood-Rich project architect Billy Kimmons. Rhoads said his RCS Investment Group LLC has owned the land for four years with the intention of building when the timing was right. Crews started in May, and Rhoads said he’s taken his time to enjoy the process while prioritizing other clients. “All of our other projects trump this one,” he said.
The new Bingham Elementary School, along with plans to renovate and increase the size of Bissett Elementary, wasn’t part of the original list of projects encompassed by Proposition S, a $220 million bond issue by Springfield Public Schools approved by city voters in April 2023.
