Postmaster General Louis DeJoy said changes to the U.S. Postal Service's operations would be suspended until after the presidential election.
The decision comes after President Donald Trump said in an interview he was slowing funding to the USPS to impede mail-in voting. He has said increased mail-in voting would come with higher incidences of voter fraud.
DeJoy has faced criticism as the USPS began removing some blue Postal Service mailboxes and eliminating overtime for employees.
