CoxHealth to open $42M Monett hospital this month

CoxHealth set an opening date for its $42 million Monett hospital that's been under construction for nearly two years.

Jan. 22 is the launch date for the 1000 E. Highway 60 health care center, according to a Jan. 1 Facebook post from Cox Monett Hospital.

CoxHealth broke ground on the hospital in May 2019, two months after its plans were approved by the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee, according to past reporting. J.E. Dunn Construction Group Inc. served as general contractor for the project designed by Overland Park, Kansas-based BSA LifeStructures Inc.

The 102,000-square-foot center comprises a 75,000-square-foot hospital and 27,000-square-foot medical office building housing 48 exam rooms. The CoxHealth Foundation raised roughly $7 million of the $42 million cost through a fundraising campaign started last year, according to past reporting.

The new hospital replaces Cox Monett's current site at 801 Lincoln Ave. A CoxHealth spokesperson could not be reached for comment by deadline on the plans for the old hospital.

The Monett hospital joins other CoxHealth construction projects that have recently wrapped up. Last month, the Springfield-based health care system opened $19 million worth of clinics in Ozark and Nixa.
