After debuting last fall with a new name and location, a pediatric rehabilitation clinic in Bolivar is set this week for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.
Citizens Memorial Hospital is hosting the March 6 event at its CMH Pediatric Rehabilitation Clinic at 2520 S. Springfield Ave., according to a news release. The open house is scheduled from noon-1 p.m., with the ribbon-cutting set for 12:15 p.m. Community members are invited to tour the clinic, meet staff and learn more about the facility’s pediatric therapy services. The event also will include light refreshments.
Formerly named CMH Outpatient Pediatric Therapy, the Bolivar-based health care system renamed it CMH Pediatric Rehabilitation Clinic. The 2,820-square-foot clinic opened in its new home in September 2025, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. CMH spokesperson Charlotte Marsch said the clinic previously was in the hospital at 1500 N. Oakland Ave. but moved to the Springfield Avenue location to make more room for hospital services.
The new space is designed to support children and families in a welcoming child-focused environment, according to the release. The clinic provides occupational, physical and speech therapy for patients 18 and younger. Therapists use play-based activities to support movement, communication, daily living skills and overall development. Patients include those with autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, muscular dystrophy, pediatric dysphagia and spina bifida, according to its website.
Marsch said startup costs for the new location were $220,000, and she declined to disclose lease terms.
CMH operates 13 rehabilitation clinics in Ash Grove, Bolivar, Buffalo, El Dorado Springs, Greenfield, Hermitage, Osceola, Stockton and Willard, according to the release.
The clinic’s open house comes a week after CMH held a community grand opening of its new hospital tower at 1500 N. Oakland Ave.
The Feb. 28 event was in recognition of the health system’s three-story, roughly 117,000-square-foot addition on the south side of the hospital, which is part of its $100 million expansion and renovation project. Officials say the new patient areas are scheduled to open in April. Renovations in the existing hospital are expected to wrap up by the end of this year and will include a surgical department expansion and two new cardiac catheterization laboratory procedure rooms, according to past SBJ reporting.
Founded in 2020, EnCompass Academy moved to a larger home this summer for the 2026-27 year.
