With a May 11 grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in the books, Children's Smile Center has opened its new clinic in Nixa.
The 112 S. Ridgecrest Ave. facility replaces the nonprofit's original clinic on the west side of Ozark, where it was located since 2006, according to a news release.
“What an amazing day to celebrate this new dental clinic with our local communities who help make it possible with their support and encouragement,” said Jackie Barger, executive director of Children’s Smile Center, in a provided statement. “Thousands more children will have a healthy smile because of this place, and we want all our donors and friends to share in the excitement.”
The facility spans roughly 7,300 square feet and will increase the number of children served each year. Children's Smile Center currently serves 6,500 children annually, according to the release.
The nonprofit has an annual operating budget of roughly $4 million, said Sandy Thompson, community relations director. Children's Smile Center has 42 employees, she said.
Snyder Construction Group LLC served as general contractor for the Nixa clinic project designed by Arkifex Studios LLC, according to past reporting. The cost of the facility has been not been disclosed.
