Project description: The Children’s Smile Center, a nonprofit providing dental care for children receiving Missouri Medicaid, is building a new headquarters in Nixa to replace the Ozark location it has outgrown, according to its executive director, Jackie Barger, in past Springfield Business Journal reporting. The move will allow the agency to serve 30%-40% more patients, he added, for a capacity of about 10,000 children per year. Barger said the Healthy Smiles capital campaign that is funding the project is anticipated to run through the end of 2029. The nonprofit serves children in in Barry, Christian, Dade, Lawrence, Stone and Taney counties. Its new headquarters aims to offer nine exam chairs and a community-centered meeting space, along with offices for the organization.
