Jefferson City-based Central Bancompany Inc. (OTC: CBCY), which does business as The Central Trust Bank and operates locally as Central Bank of the Ozarks, has filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange commission to list shares on the Nasdaq.

The Oct. 10 SEC filing, made under the S-1 form type for new securities, does not state a specific launch date for the Nasdaq IPO, nor does it list approximate share prices to be sought. The filing states that the IPO would be conducted under the ticker symbol CBC "as soon as practicable after the registration statement is declared effective."

"Our ability to take market share and our successful acquisition strategy has caused our weighted average market share to increase steadily over time, including an increase of approximately 3.4 percentage points since 2010," the filing reads. "Our business model is designed to serve the holistic financial services needs of businesses, individuals, agencies and community organizations within our footprint."

A Central Bancompany news release outlining the IPO plans indicates its board approved a 50-for-1 stock split in the form of a stock dividend to be paid to shareholders of record as of Oct. 20.

According to the SEC filing, Central Bancompany had 156 branches, $19.1 billion in assets and $14.8 billion in deposits as of June 30. The filing additionally lists net income of $186.2 million for the first six months of 2025, compared with $171.3 million in the same period of 2024.

The Central Trust Bank ranked No. 3 this year in deposit market share in the Springfield metropolitan statistical area. As of June 30, the company had $1.47 billion in Springfield MSA deposits, equating to 8.58% of the market, according to past reporting.

The company’s website lists a dozen branches in Springfield.
