Asbestos, Quebec, changes name

The Canadian town of Asbestos, Quebec, has opted for a new name.

The community of 7,000 people voted for the name Val-des-Sources, which roughly equates to Valley of the Springs. The town was built around the Jeffrey Mine, a chrysotile asbestos mine.

Town officials previously announced name change plans citing, in part, difficulty in persuading investors to come to the area.
