A hotel that's under construction in northwest Springfield has been approved for clean energy financing.
Show Me PACE, a program administered by Jefferson City nonprofit Missouri Energy Initiative, announced in a news release this morning that nearly $3.4 million in property assessed clean energy financing was finalized for Echo Suites by Wyndham. Bloom Ventures is targeting a February 2026 opening for the $13.5 million Echo Suites hotel at Kearney Street and West Bypass, according to past reporting.
“PACE financing empowers businesses to implement essential upgrades that drive affordability, profitability and long-term sustainability,” said Josh Campbell, executive director of the Missouri Energy Initiative, in the release. “We are committed to fostering economic growth in the Springfield region by helping local businesses invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy systems.”
Authorized by the Missouri PACE Act, the program connects businesses with private lenders to finance energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Angela Gordon, PACE manager for the Missouri Energy Initiative, said via email that the lender for the Echo Suites energy-efficient financing is SSC PACE SSB Originator LLC, which is owned by the Peachtree Group.
Planned energy-efficient features of the 124-room Echo Suites by Wyndham at 2439 N. Airport Plaza Ave. include its building envelope, LED lighting, HVAC equipment and hot water heating systems, according to the release. The upgrades are expected to generate savings exceeding $5 million over the next two decades, with energy savings estimated at 588,280 kWh of electricity and 50,240 therms of natural gas.
