YRC to meet with union leaders on direction of company

Posted online

Overland Park, Kan.-based over-the-road haulers YRC Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq:YRCW) has requested the International Brotherhood of Teamsters come to Dallas to meet on Nov. 5 with top administrators to talk about the company’s future.

YRC officials are planning to brief Teamsters leaders on the company’s recent performance, future prospects and refinancing opportunities, the Kansas City Business Journal reports.

The labor union, which has represented 25,000 of the 32,000 YRC employees, could be asked to make concessions, something the union has done previously, in advance of 2014 debt obligation deadlines.

In September, Jeff Rogers, president of YRC Freight, a division of YRC Worldwide, exited his post, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
