You're more likely to get a raise now

If you're one of the millions of workers who have seen their wages fall or remain flat during the recession, while simultaneously watching pay packets of many CEOs skyrocket, there might be a glimmer of good news on the horizon.
 
CNNMoney reports that 43 percent of economists surveyed indicated firms are slowly increasing wages paid to employees, up from 19 percent last year. Fifty-seven percent reported that wages are flat; companies that aren't paying their workers more do seem to be at least stopping the pay cuts, the report found.
 
Although the news sounds initially encouraging, CNNMoney also reports that data show although wages are increasing, they aren't keeping up with how fast prices are rising. If rising prices and inflation are computed into the wage gains, real wages actually fell 0.1 percent in May.
