July property values saw their biggest year-to-year increase since early 2006, going up 12.4 percent from July 2012, according to a Bloomberg report.

The increase, tracked in 20 cities by the S&P/Case-Shiller index, was the most in more than seven years and matched projections of more than two dozen economists surveyed.

However, with mortgage rates at a two-year high, increases in property values are expected to slow by the end of the year.
