Ron Stenger Cos. is leading the new residential development category in the city of Springfield. The company announced three new projects in the last 12 months: 56-lot Overland Heights, 82-acre Hickory Valley and a 49-unit senior apartment complex.
In center city, residential construction turned its attention toward students. There is currently almost $70 million in urban housing planned through 2015.
At the start of the year, a co-owner of Greenleaf Cos. was sentenced to four years in federal prison for bank fraud related to a two-year mortgage investment scheme. Eric Gagnepain, of Nixa, operated Greenleaf and a subsidiary, The Real Estate Co., with Scott Dasal, of Republic. In guilty pleas by both parties, Gagnepain acknowledged netting $1 million in the scheme in which the bank fraud conspiracy totaled between $2.5 million and $7 million.[[In-content Ad]]
