The New York Yankees are in talks with Amazon and Sinclair Broadcast Group to partner on a bid for the team’s regional sports network YES.
People familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal Walt Disney Co. is trying to sell YES so the government will approve its purchase of the majority of 21st Century Fox. The latter company currently owns the assets.
The Yankees currently own 20 percent of YES. They have the first right of refusal on the remaining 80 percent.
