Yahoo suitors expected to bid below past indications

Verizon Communications and other Yahoo suitors are expected to bid $2 billion to $3 billion for the company's core business, less than previously thought, people familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires.

Previously, Yahoo's core business was expected to be purchased for $4 billion to $8 billion.

Verizon Communications is reportedly the front-runner among the bidders.
