Wyoming’s legislature is considering a resolution that would phase out the sale of new electric vehicle sales by 2035.
Officials cited Wyoming’s “proud and valued” oil and gas industry and noted the widespread use of electric vehicles would require the state to build “massive amounts of new power generation” to “sustain the misadventure of electric vehicles.”
The resolution is largely symbolic as it would be voluntary, according to Engadget.
