Endeavor Group Holdings Inc., the parent company of UFC, announced a planned acquisition of the WWE.
Through the deal, Endeavor would own a 51% controlling interest in a new holding company over the WWE wrestling organization. WWE shareholders would own the remainder.
"This is a rare opportunity to create a global live sports and entertainment pureplay built for where the industry is headed," Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel said.
