Christine Blasey Ford this summer wrote a confidential letter to a senior Democratic lawmaker alleging Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her more than 30 years ago.
The story has since become public without her name or consent, causing her to speak out.
Ford alleges Kavanaugh and a friend, during the early 1980s, corralled her into a bedroom during a teenage party.
Kavanaugh allegedly pinned her to the bed and groped her while attempting to remove her bathing suit. He allegedly put his band over her mouth when she tried to scream, as the friend watched.
“I thought he might inadvertently kill me,” said Ford, now a 51-year-old research psychologist in northern California. “He was trying to attack me and remove my clothing.”
Kavanaugh has denied the allegations.
