What’s a good night’s sleep worth? Swedish manufacturer Hastens hopes it’s $150,000.
The company claims its beds “will change your life, and alter the way you think about sleep forever.”
The Washington Post reports, each Vividus bed is custom made over 320 hours by four master artisans, using a slow-growing Swedish pinewood frame, a box-spring equipped with pure steel springs, layers of flax, horsetail hair, cotton and wool batting, all specially stacked.
According to the company, the horsehair is braided and unbraided by hand and acts as a miniature airway to wick moisture away so there’s no sweat buildup while you sleep.
The Post calculates if you keep the bed for 25 years and get 8 hours of sleep a night, it’s roughly $2 an hour for sleep.
