St. Louis-based World Wide Technology canceled its sponsorship deal with professional golfer Graeme McDowell.
The decision follows McDowell's decision to participate in a new golf league with ties to Saudi Arabia. The league is considered a rival to the PGA Tour, of which WWT is a naming-rights sponsor.
"Graeme has been a good partner with WWT throughout the years. However, WWT’s commitment is fully with the PGA Tour including our title sponsorship of the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba," said Matt Horner, executive vice president of global enterprise sales at WWT.
