A $526.7 million redevelopment project is underway in Kansas City's West Bottoms neighborhood.
SomeraRoad and the city held a groundbreaking event on Wednesday for the project that includes plans for a public gathering area, commercial space, historic conversions and new public infrastructure.
As part of tax incentives lined up for the redevelopment work, the municipality has brought on contractor I-Solutions to start the project with $25 million in public infrastructure upgrades.
