With latest executive order, Parson rescinds 177 others

Posted online

Gov. Mike Parson this week signed an executive order to rescind past orders from the governor's office.

Executive Order 24-11 rescinds 177 past executive orders, with some dating back to the 1980s. Many of the orders on the list were for issues or emergencies that have been dealt with or no longer exist.

"Since the very beginning, we have always looked to cut red tape, streamline bureaucracy and reduce the size of government where possible," Parson said in a news release. "This action today helps untangle a web of unnecessary and contradicting executive orders that no longer serve their intended purposes, ensuring more efficient and effective operations across state government."
