Overland Park, Kan.-based Sprint Corp. is further deploying its 4G LTE network throughout the nation with help from the Competitive Carriers Association and NetAmerica Alliance. According to the Kansas City Business Journal, the expansion will focus on deploying in rural areas.
The program will reduce roaming costs for carriers in rural or under-served areas and provide the ability to purchase a wider range of devices.
“Every American, regardless of where they live or work, should have access to high-speed mobile broadband,” Sprint Chairman Masayoshi Son said in a release.
The Kansas City Business Journal reports Sprint has about 55.4 million total customers.
