nForm Architecture LLCDevelopmental Center of the Ozarks renovation, 1545 E. Pythian St.
nForm Architecture LLC is handling design work on the $1.6 million Developmental Center of the Ozarks renovation project. Funded through a capital campaign, the project is a series of improvements to the current facilities, including new entrances, a complete renovation of the Hailey Center, a partial renovation to the family center and repurposing an existing brick maintenance building into a new development office. Additional site work includes a splash pad play area, a new park, additional parking and rain gardens. Engineers are J&M Engineering LLC, structural and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. General contractor is Larry Snyder & Co. The project is slated for completion in April.
H Design Group LLCElliott, Robinson & Co. LLP office, Blackman Road and Seminole Street
H Design Group LLC is designing a new eco-friendly office building for accounting firm Elliott, Robinson & Co. LLP in the TerraGreen Office Park. The design utilizes features such as natural light, sustainable materials, low-energy consumption products and additional Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design concepts to create a 13,000-square-foot building with three conference rooms, a large training room, break room and approximately 50 offices. Project engineers are Olsson Associates Inc., civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing. General contractor is Morelock-Ross Builders Inc. and work is slated for completion in February 2015.
Sapp Design Associates PCMissouri Southern State University athletic field house, 3950 E. Newman Road, Joplin
The $7 million athletic field house at Missouri Southern State University aims to expand and improv team facilities along with a new standalone building adjacent to the Fred G. Hughes Stadium. Designed by Sapp Design Associates PC and being built by R.E. Smith Construction Co., the facility will combine coaches, administration and student athletes in a two-story 43,000-square-foot building overlooking the north end zone. Engineers are Small Arrow Engineering LLC, civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is slated for completion in spring 2015.
Sam A. Winn & Associates Architects PCWest St. Francois County School District middle school, 1124 Main St., Leadwood
Sam A. Winn & Associates Architects PC is the architect for a $7.56 million middle school in the West St. Francois County School District. The 58,000-square-foot project will have sixth–eighth-grade classrooms, a media center, band and vocal music rooms, two science labs, vocational/technical classrooms and a gymnasium with seating for 650. The facility also will have a full-service kitchen and cafeteria that will double as a tornado shelter. The project includes engineering work from Geotech Analysis Terracon. A general contractor has yet to be determined and completion is planned for February 2016.
Paragon Architecture Inc.Paragon Architecture studio, 430 S. Glenstone Ave.
Paragon Architecture Inc. is relocating its office space within the Paladin Building at 430 S. Glenstone Ave. The infill project consists of a 2,100-square-foot renovation of existing tenant spaces allowing the growing firm a larger studio for collaborative work. Smith-Goth Engineers Inc. will handle mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. The project is expected to be complete by May 1.
Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc.KPM CPAs PC office, 1445 E. Republic Road
Following KPM CPAs PC’s recent merger with fellow Springfield certified public accounting firm Davis, Lynn & Moots PC, the company is planning a $6 million, 50,000-square-foot office designed by Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. Owned by developer Bill Beall Co. and financed by Empire Bank, KPM CPAs will occupy the first two floors of the three-story structure, gradually expanding to the top floor. General contractor Morelock-Ross Builders Inc. will work with engineers Lee Engineering & Associates LLC, civil; Butler, Rosenbury & Partners, structural; and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The building is slated for completion in October.
Bates & Associates Inc.Fremont Elementary School renovation and addition, 2814 N. Fremont Ave.
Bates & Associates Inc. was selected by Springfield Public Schools to provide the architectural design for a 55,000-square-foot addition and 20,000-square-foot renovation to Fremont Elementary School. The $10.35 million project will accommodate a total of 450 students and 50 staff and the K-5 school will include 24 general education classrooms, three special education classrooms, Title 1 classrooms, a music classroom, an art classroom, a computer lab, administration offices, staff support areas, kitchen, cafeteria, gymnasium, courtyard and a large library. Construction is expected to begin in May and will culminate in August 2015. Project engineers are CJW Transportation Consultants LLC, civil; Toth and Associates Inc., structural; and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Baron Design & Associates LLCGardner Capital Inc., 4803 S. National Ave.
Baron Design & Associates LLC is designing a three-story, steel structure as the headquarters for Gardner Capital Inc. At 17,000 square feet, Southern Bank will occupy the first floor and Gardner Capital will use the two upper floors as office space. Exterior elements include curtain wall, stone veneer, aluminum composite panels and granite as accents. Project engineers are Bentley Building Co. LLC, civil; Miller Engineering PC, structural; and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is slated for completion in late 2014.
Buxton Kubik Dodd CreativeStrafford Elementary and tornado shelter, 211 W. McCabe St., Strafford
Buxton Kubik Dodd Creative is designing an $8 million fifth-grade elementary school and tornado shelter for the Strafford R-6 School District. The approximately 70,000-square-foot project is being constructed on vacant land directly adjacent to the Strafford campus and is expected to be complete in summer 2015. Engineers are Lee Engineering & Associates LLC, civil; Toth and Associates Inc., structural; and Pellham-Phillips Architects and Engineers Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Esterly, Schneider & Associates Inc.Peoples Savings Bank operations center, 112 West 5th St., Hermann
Esterly, Schneider & Associates Inc. is designing a two-story, 7,738-square-foot operations center for Peoples Savings Bank across from their existing facility in Hermann. The $2.1 million facility is designed to take into account the nature of the adjacent historic district and contain administrative offices, conference rooms and serve as the main information technology support facility for the bank’s branch facilities. General contractor Federal Construction Inc. will work with engineers Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing. A. Deckard Interiors will provide interior design work for the project slated to be complete in June.
Hood-Rich Inc.Hometown Veterinary Hospital and River Canine Rehabilitation, 2215 W. Republic Road
Hometown Veterinary Hospital is moving and expanding their services in this 7,000-square-foot facility designed by Hood-Rich Inc. Financed by Mid-Missouri Bank, the $760,000 veterinary hospital will include exam rooms, a treatment center and a canine rehabilitation center. Adam Pyle & Associates LLC will serve as general contractor. Engineers are Deka Engineering LLC, civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is slated for completion in fall 2014.
InSight Design Architects LLCRetail center remodel, Springfield
A pair of retail strip centers at a northeast Springfield intersection are slated to receive a $800,00 facade upgrade slated for completion in summer 2014. Materials, finishes and canopies will be integrated into the new elevation as the buildings relate to each other and their street orientation. A general contractor and engineers have yet to be selected for the project.
Torgerson Design Partners LLCAir Medical Group Holdings Inc. office, West Plains
Hoover Brother's Farms is developing a Arvest Bank-financed $5.5 million office building in West Plains for tenant Air Medical Group Holdings Inc. Construction is currently underway through general contractor Adam's Construction and is expected to be complete by December 2014. Project engineers are Heithaus Engineering & Associates Inc., civil; J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and Smith-Goth Engineers Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Jack Ball Architects PC Fairview R-11 School District additions, 4036 State Route K, West Plains
Jack Ball Architects PC is designed a gymnasium and office additions for the Fairview R-11 School District. The gymnasium addition will connect the north and south wings of the existing K-8 facility and include a concession area, event restrooms, locker rooms, show facilities and athletic offices. Also included in the project will be renovations to upgrade the building's existing east entry to the administrative offices. Slated for completion in April 2015, a general contractor and engineers have not yet been selected.
GHN Architects EngineersGlendale High School commons addition, 2727 S. Ingram Mill Road
GHN Architects Engineers is designing the $2.9 million addition and renovation to Glendale High School for Springfield Public School. The project includes a new student commons, west entrance, outdoor patio space and additions/renovations to the existing library, cafeteria and food service areas. GHN also is handling engineering and interior design work on the project slated for completion this fall.

Latifi EngineeringCountry Club Plaza, 1421-1439 S. Glenstone Ave.
Latifi Engineering is mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer on the Country Club Plaza facade renovation for owner Jared Enterprises Inc. Designed by Bates & Associates Inc., the project encompasses the former Smillie’s IGA and adjacent retail tenants. It is slated for completion this spring.
Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc.Dogwood Canyon Nature Park Visitors Center, 2038 W. State Highway 86, Lampe
Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc. performed mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering for the $2 million Dogwood Canyon Nature Park Visitors Center that includes a restaurant, public restrooms and museum and visitor center operations. Funded through the Dogwood Canyon Foundation, the project features a working timber-framed mill carved into a steep limestone bluff connected via an enclosed bridge over a federally protected stream. Atlanta-based Summerour & Associates Architects Inc. is handling design work, Killian Construction Co. is general contractor, with additional engineering by Mike Stalzer, civil; J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and Palmerton & Parrish Inc., geotechnical. The project is slated for completion this year.
Olsson Associates Inc.Jordan Creek renewal, Grant Avenue to Boonville Avenue
The city of Springfield selected Olsson Associates Inc. to develop conceptual plans for day lighting a 1,900-square-foot stretch of Jordan Creek between Grant and Boonville avenues. The estimated $2 million project consists of supplementing inadequate drainage passageways and restoring the existing stream to natural conditions through a greenway corridor in downtown Springfield. Through Environmental Protection Agency brownfields grants, the city is developing a remediation plan to clean up contamination on this property. The conceptual improvement plans for the day lighting of Jordan Creek will be incorporated into the remediation planning work to complement the future Jordan Creek improvements. Design is slated for completion in June, and a construction timeline has yet to be determined.
Toth and Associates Inc.Webb City School District multipurpose room, 810 N. Highway D, Webb City
Site constraints, circulation, grading and bridging the gap between Webb City School District’s Harry Truman Elementary and Bess Truman Elementary were just some of the design criteria and ideas that needed to be considered as engineer Toth & Associates Inc. and architect Paragon Architecture Inc. worked together to conceive the $1.8 million multipurpose safe room project. The 6,500-square-foot facility would protect approximately 950 students, faculty and community members, and it is designed to help alleviate traffic circulation concerns. Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc. is mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer on the project slated for completion this fall.
Mettemeyer Engineering LLC76 Marketplace, Branson
With structural work from Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, Bates & Associates Inc. is designing a 6,000-square-foot Branson retail center for Jared Enterprises Inc. The 76 Marketplace will house Moe’s Southwest Grill and a Subway location with drive-thru services. Additional engineers are CJW Transportation Consultants LLC, civil, and Latifi Engineering, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is slated for completion this summer.
Pellham-Phillips Architects and Engineers Inc.The U, Park Central East and Jefferson Avenue
Pellham-Phillips Architects and Engineers Inc. will provide mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering work for the renovation of the six-story McDaniel building into by-the-bed rental student housing from owners The Vecino Group LLC. Financed by Mid-Missouri Bank, the $4 million development will house 89 tenants in 39 units with a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans. The building also will include shared social space, a fitness center, secure bicycle storage in the basement and first-floor retail space. With architecture and interior design work by Buxton Kubik Dodd Creative, additional engineers on the project are J&M Engineering LLC, structural, and Build LLC will serve as general contractor. The project is slated for completion this fall.
Wells & Scaletty LLCMissouri Southern State University student housing, 3950 E. Newman Road, Joplin
Wells & Scaletty LLC is structural engineer for Missouri Southern State University’s $12.5 million residence hall. The 200-bed, 92,000-square-foot facility is designed with suites that include private bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a laundry facility. The hall also features three student common areas. Bates & Associates Inc. handled design work, with additional engineering by Small Arrow Engineering LLC, civil, and Kansas-based FSC Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing. R.E. Smith Construction Co. has signed for as general contractor on the project slated for completion in June 2015.
Colvin Jones Davis LLCReliable Lexus renovation and addition, 3521 E. Sunshine St.
Colvin Jones Davis LLC is mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer on the 22,500-square-foot renovation and service addition to the Reliable Lexus building owned by Tony Stubblefield. Bates & Associates Inc. designed the structure with construction to be performed by DeWitt & Associates Inc. Additional engineers on the project are CJW Transportation Consultants LLC, civil, and Wells & Scaletty LLC, structural. The project is set for completion in June 2015.
J&M Engineering Inc.Purdy R-2 School District addition and renovations, 201 S. Gabby Gibbons Ave., Purdy
J&M Engineering Inc. is the structural engineer for a new entry, restroom addition, cafeteria expansion and library renovation to the Purdy R-2 School District campus. The $1 million renovation will create needed cafeteria space, a commons/concession area during basketball games, larger restrooms and a defining entrance plaza. Designed by Paragon Architecture Inc., other engineers include Toth and Associates Inc., civil, and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Bales Construction Co. Inc. has signed on as general contractor for project, with completion scheduled this spring.
CJW Transportation Consultants LLCBig O Tires, 1503 W. Republic Road
CJW Transportation Consultants LLC is civil engineer for an approximately 8,000-square-foot Big O Tires for owner Jared Enterprises Inc. Bates & Associates Inc. designed a showroom and 10-bay service area for automotive installations and repairs. Additional project engineers are Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural, and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is slated for completion this spring.
Pinnacle Design Consultants LLCBolivar Technical College, North Oakland Avenue, Bolivar
Pinnacle Design Consultants LLC is the structural and civil engineer on Citizens Memorial Healthcare’s 28,830-square-foot Bolivar Technical College. The two-story school of nursing is designed with classrooms, computer labs, a library, large community rooms and supportive administration offices. Currently in the design phase, the building will be adjacent to CMH’s 8,500-square-foot OB-GYN clinic under construction and slated for completion in April. H Design Group LLC is project architect on the school with mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering work from Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc. Construction of Bolivar Technical College should wrap up in early 2015.
Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. St. Canera Parish Hall addition, 504 S. Washington St., Neosho
Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. is structural engineer and architect for the Catholic Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau’s $600,000 addition to St. Canera Catholic Church. Already under construction, the Parish Hall addition accommodates 150 people seated and includes four classrooms, a kitchen, new restrooms and a lobby. Parish Hall is a counterpoint to the existing church building, linked to the church through a new lobby. Additional engineers are Civen Inc., civil, and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Completion is slated for March, and the general contractor on the project is Construction Services Group.
Miller Engineering PCWoodland Hills, 182-202 and 165-185 Lyle Curtis Circle, Waynesville
Miller Engineering PC is structural engineer for the Woodland Hills multifamily housing development in Waynesville. Owned by Waynesville Family Homes LP and developed by Four Corners Development LLC, the project includes 24 two- and three-bedroom homes and a 1,800-square foot community building. The project was designed to meet National Association of Home Builders green standards by Baron Design & Associates LLC. Colvin Jones Davis LLC provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, and Hamilton Contracting Inc. is serving as general contractor. The project is set for completion this fall.
Great River Associates Inc.College Street/Route 66 streetscape
Great River Associates Inc. is engineer on the city of Springfield’s College Street/Route 66 revitalization project. The streetscape project balances the needs and functions of the cooridor as a transportation thoroughfare and as a healthy commercial district with gateways providing an overall theme for the West Central District. A project completion date is to be determined.
Shaffer & Hines Inc.Nixa Junior High Phase II, 205 North St., Nixa
Shaffer & Hines Inc. is civil engineer on the $8.2 million Nixa Junior High second phase addition and renovation that will add a new identity to the front of the school. Designed by Sapp Design Associates Architects PC, the addition includes administrative offices, commons space, entryway, a Federal Emergency Management Agency safe room/gymnasium, flexible classrooms and kitchen. The renovation will include classroom infill and a band and choir room. Additional engineers on the project are Toth and Associates Inc., structural and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The second phase is slated for completion in August 2015.
HDR Inc.Regional biosolids management, Taney County
HDR Inc. is engineer on the $9.5 million biosolids management project for the Tri-County Regional Sewer District. The project aims to address current and long-term biosolids management needs through a regional facility that will dry wastewater biosolids. The project is a partnership of the cities of Branson, Forsyth, Hollister and Kimberling City. When operational in late 2014, biosolids from the region will be processed into a final dry product that can be used in public areas and also be given away or sold as a marketable product.
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc.Fassnight Creek Phase II
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc. is engineer on the city of Springfield’s $2.5 million second phase renovation of Fassnight Creek. The project includes roadway, drainage and channel restoration improvements to Fassnight Creek between Campbell and Jefferson avenues, along with new bridges at Jefferson and Bennett Street. Work includes greenway trail extension from Utah Street to Jefferson and stream stabilization and restoration. Hartman & Co. Inc. is general contractor on the project slated to be complete in the summer.[[In-content Ad]]
