Sapp Design Associates Architects PC designed this fifth- and sixth-grade school for the Nixa R-II School District. Mettemeyer Engineering LLC is the structural engineer, and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc. is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. Interior Planning Consultants is the interior designer. Summit Intermediate School is designed to complement the district's school for students in kindergarten - fourth grades, with a mix of architectural and geometric shapes to provide interest and identity and create an inviting atmosphere for students. Interior color schemes will be incorporated to create an optimal learning environment and influence various moods in different areas of the building. The 74,000-square-foot school will accommodate 650 students. Master-planned technology includes state-of-the-art wireless systems. Sustainable design features are used to create a high-performance, environmentally friendly campus. Funding is from bonds approved by voters in 2008, and construction is slated for completion in August.[[In-content Ad]]
