Jennifer Wilson Architect LLC is the architect for the city of Marshfield's 4,300-square-foot tornado-safe room, designed to meet Federal Emergency Management Agency requirements. Springfield-based Great River Associates Inc. is the civil and structural engineer, and Marionville-based Pond Creek Designs LLC is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. The shelter is funded by a FEMA grant obtained by Webster County, matched by funds from the city of Marshfield. Ellis O. Jackson Park is the home of the Webster County Fair, and when the shelter isn't being used as a safe room, it will be a multipurpose space for the event.
