General contractor: GeoEngineers Inc. (construction manager)
Estimated cost: $250,000
GeoEngineers Inc. completed geophysical, geological and geotechnical evaluations of a sinkhole located near an 8-inch BP Amoco pipeline in Tennessee. GeoEngineers also made construction repair design recommendations for a Class V injection well and led the design-build team, subcontracting the construction of the sinkhole repair project. Sinkholes were identified by BP staff in 2006; GeoEngineers eventually identified and evaluated seven sinkholes. In early 2009, BP personnel indicated erosion at one sinkhole was encroaching on the BP easement. GeoEngineers conducted a follow-up site evaluation and made recommendations for general construction, estimated material quantities and options for the repair work, and provided final design and construction monitoring. The work was completed in late 2009.[[In-content Ad]]
