The Sertoma Club of Springfield held its first Wingapalooza fund-raiser to benefit the Springfield Boys and Girls Clubs Nov. 14 at Remington's. Fourteen restaurants provided samples of their best wings, and five bands from the Slewfoot record label entertained the crowd throughout the evening. Pictured clockwise from top left: a happy patron of Springfield Brewing Company's booth has her plate filled with wings; the wings provided by Adobe Coyote Cafe were voted the People's Choice Award winner; workers at Maria's booth were happy to be involved in the event; local band The Morells provided some lively songs for the estimated crowd of 900; one attendee at Wingapalooza tastes a sampling of wings. Both live and silent auctions were held to help raise funds, which according to Sertoma Club of Springfield President Sean Crayton's early estimates brought in $8,000 for the children. The money will be used for programming at the local Boys and Girls clubs.[[In-content Ad]]
