Windstream nets Veterans Affairs’ contract worth up to $450M

Little Rock, Ark.-based Windstream Holdings Inc. announced Tuesday it is one of three companies to land a contract to provide voice, data and Internet services for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information and Technology.

For Windstream, the contract could be worth up to $450 million over the next five years, putting the firm’s services in 2,100 VA facilities across the nation.

The deals are designed to help Veterans Affairs consolidate communication services to make them more efficient and reliable. Windstream is slated to provide VA medical center clinics and facilities with local voice and high-speed Internet services and customized teleconferencing products in support of telehealth initiatives.
