Six years after buying Leslie Wilson’s practice, certified public accountant Jeremiah Mee changed the name of the firm and relocated its office.
Mee told Springfield Business Journal he switched the company’s name to Jeremiah Mee CPA & Advisors alongside a Jan. 15 move to the south side from the north side. Mee bought Leslie J. Wilson CPA PC in 2012, when he rebranded the company as Wilson & Mee CPAs LLC. And while Wilson left the practice later that year, the firm’s name was consistent until the recent transition.
Jeremiah Mee CPA & Advisors now operates at 1245 E. Montclair St. in the Fremont Square center, a switch from its former home at 1410 E. Kearney St.
Mee said the 18-year-old firm signed a five-year-lease for undisclosed terms with Connie Gourley’s Premier Investments LLC. and spent an undisclosed sum remodeling the interior. Harris Construction was the general contractor, he said, with Arkifex Studios as architect and Ellecor Design and Gifts as interior designer.
He also hired DL Media Inc. to build his company’s new logo, website and business cards. MeeCPA.com is under construction.
Jeremiah Mee CPA & Advisors employs two other CPAs, as well as two administrators and six accountants who focus on the firm’s base clients of clergy and missionaries. Mee said the firm is starting to pivot more toward business accounts.
