St. Louis attorney Will Scharf has been appointed White House staff secretary by President-elect Donald Trump.
Scharf also is slated to serve as an assistant to the president.
Earlier this year, Scharf ran unsuccessfully against incumbent Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey in the Republican primary.
