WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was denied bail in London, shortly after a U.S. bid for extradition was rejected.
Assange has spent more than eight years in the Ecuadorean embassy in London or in jail.
The court ruled "there are substantial grounds for believing" Assange might try to flee as the United States prepares another extradition attempt.
The U.S. Department of Justice is attempting to extradite Assange to face 18 criminal charges of breaking an espionage law and conspiring to hack government computers.
