Jim Condry, a partner in Springfield law firm Wieland & Condry LLC, died Jan. 21. He was 63.
Condry died in Springfield of cancer, said Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association Executive Director Crista Hogan via email.
Condry and Dave Wieland started their firm in 2006, according to a Missouri secretary of state filing. The company focuses on estate planning, business and banking law, mediation, taxation and real estate, according to
WielandAndCondry.com.
A
biography on file with the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals indicates Condry served 1986-2006 as a shareholder in Hall, Ansley, Rodgers & Condry and as an associate and later partner 1979-1986 in Woolsey, Fisher, Whiteaker, McDonald & Ansley in Springfield.
Since 1990, Condry handled over 2,500 mediation and arbitration cases, promoting the philosophy that the most cost-effective way to resolve civil or business law disputes was through settlements, according to his firm’s website.
“Jim was the best lawyer, mediator, partner and friend a person could ever expect to have,” Wieland & Condry partner Wieland said in a newsletter sent to members of the SMBA. Wieland could not be reached for further comment this morning by deadline.
Condry, who was born in Arkansas and grew up in Branson, earned his law degree in 1979 from the University of Missouri. According to the SMBA newsletter, Condry often was called to give presentations on collegiality to members.
The attorney is survived by his wife Bobi; daughter and son-in-law Abby and Dan Dunn; son Clayton; and sister Nancy, according to his obituary posted at
GormanScharpf.com.
A visitation for Condry is scheduled 4-6 p.m. today at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, 1947 E. Seminole St., following by a memorial service 3 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
