Why you shouldn't panic about rising mortgage rates

Mortgage rates have been on the rise - the average rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 4.16 percent from 4.13 percent last week - but buyers don’t need to worry.

Rates under 5 percent have been normal for the past 10 years and are still far from average.

Though the rates are rising slowly, borrowers may need to look for more affordable options in the future.
