Whole Foods recalls cheese after listeria scare

Whole Foods Market has initiated a nationwide recall of one brand of Roquefort cheese after Food and Drug Administration officials found the presence of listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that causes listeriosis, a form of food poisoning.

The brand affected is Papillion Organic Roquefort.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates older adults, pregnant women, newborns and adults with weak immune systems are particularly vulnerable to listeriosis.
