Who Wins the World Cup of Wealth?

While the FIFA World Cup trophy has long been elusive to Team USA, America is tops among the 32 countries participating in the 2014 soccer tournament in terms of wealth.

According to the Wealth-X World Cup of Wealth, the United States has more than 65,500 ultrahigh net-worth individuals, holding a commanding lead over runner up Germany’s 17,820 ultra wealthy individuals. Using data from the Wealth-X and UBS World Ultra Wealth Report, the competition on paper defined ultra wealth as having assets of $30 million or more.

Japan was third, with 14,000 ultra wealthy residents, followed by England’s 10,000 ultra wealthy individuals.
