Who tops Forbes Celebrity 100 this year?

Posted online
Taylor Swift is having a good year.

On top of being one half of internet sensation HiddleSwift – aka her budding romance with actor Tom Hiddleston – T-Swizzle tops this year’s Forbes Celebrity 100.

Ranking Hollywood’s highest-paid celebrities, the pop princess brought in $170 million to take the No. 1 spot. According to Forbes, Swift’s payday comes courtesy of her massive 1989 World Tour. She smashed the Rolling Stones’ North American touring record, grossing $200 million across the continent en route to a quarter of a billion dollars in total. She also pads her pocketbook by working for brands including Diet Coke, Keds and Apple.

No. 2 on the list? It was more of a group effort for boy band sensation One Direction at $110 million. Mystery author James Patterson rounded out the top 3 with $95 million on the back of the ever-popular Alex Cross novels.

Of note, No. 6  Kevin Hart, with earnings of $87.5 million, is the first comedian to ever outearn Jerry Seinfeld and has packed venues this year at a rate on par with rock stars, according to Forbes.

A total of 34 celebrities on last year’s list failed to make the $30.5 million needed to return to 2016’s list. Notables include Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Leonardo DiCaprio.
