Two months after Bob Ziehmer, left, resigned as director of the Missouri Department of Conservation, he’s joined Johnny Morris at Bass Pro Shops. Ziehmer is Bass Pro’s senior director of conservation and lead director of the Johnny Morris Foundation. He has 25 years of conservation experience and led the state department for six years, managing a $185 million annual budget.
Flanked by members of Springfield’s business community, Springfield City Councilman Ken McClure on Aug. 24 announces his 2017 campaign for mayor. McClure, the city’s mayor pro tem who retired last summer as Missouri State University’s vice president for administrative services, broke the news at SMC Packaging Group. He was joined by SMC Chairman and CEO Kevin Ausburn, Transmission Access Policy Study Group Director John Twitty, BKD LLP Managing Partner John Wanamaker and current Mayor Bob Stephens. Current Councilwoman Kristi Fulnecky is the only other announced candidate so far. Her campaign raised over $100,000 in the second quarter.

auction benefitted charity partner Good Samaritan Boys Ranch, whose
mission is to provide a safe and caring home for boys who have come from
broken or nonexistent homes.
