White River Valley Electric Cooperative announced the selection of a new CEO.
Beau Jackson has been tapped to succeed Chris Hamon, who is scheduled to retire Sept. 1 after more than 40 years at WRVEC, according to a news release.
Jackson is a 13-year employee of WRVEC, with roles including vice president and chief engineering officer, as well as his current position as CEO of White River Connect, the fiber internet subsidiary of WRVEC.
“I’m excited to lead the cooperative and our fiber subsidiary into the next chapter while continuing our long tradition of serving our local communities,” Jackson said in the release. “Even as the energy and broadband industries change, our focus remains the same – taking care of our members, supporting our employees, and finding practical, innovative ways to serve our region well."
Jackson's selection followed a multistate selection process.
“As we look ahead, we are confident in the leadership of Beau Jackson and the strength of our organization,” said Neal Crum, president of the WRVEC Board of Directors, in the release. “With the support of our employees, we are well-positioned to continue delivering reliable service to our members.”
