White House targets California's emissions standards

The Trump administration this week is expected to revoke an Obama-era waiver that allows California to set its own automobile emission standards.

It's seen as a broader effort by the White House to roll back efforts to battle climate change, according to NPR.

California's emission standards are stricter than federal guidelines.
