White House reportedly mulling tax cut to avoid recession

The White House reportedly is considering a new tax cut to ward off a recession.

A temporary cut to the payroll tax is among measures being considered, according to media reports.

However, the White House disputed the reports in a statement, saying "cutting payroll taxes is not something under consideration at this time."
