At least five White House officials have resigned in protest after supporters of President Donald Trump breached the Capitol on Wednesday.
Former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, who subsequently served as the special envoy to Northern Ireland, was among those to resign.
Others include Deputy National Security Adviser Matt Pottinger; Stephanie Grisham, First Lady Melania Trump’s chief of staff and President Trump’s former press secretary; White House deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews; and White House social secretary Rickie Niceta.
More resignations are expected.
