White House drone raises security questions

Monday morning, the White House radar system failed to detect a two-foot, two-pound drone that landed on the South Lawn. The drone was harmless, however. An unnamed government official was responsible for recreationally flying the drone, according to the New York Times.

The questions is, if there was a similar object that could harm the president, would the Secret Service be able to detect and stop it?

There was no explanation from officials as to why the man was flying the drone. The man, who does not work at the White House, has not been charged with criminal intent.
